Player Terms

Home / Player Terms

Version dated 9 June 2026 · Published at https://www.theclutchsports.com/legal/player-terms

These Player Terms apply when you use the Clutch Player App. They add to our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Grievance & Content-Takedown Policy, which also apply. Where these Player Terms directly conflict with the Terms of Service on a player-specific matter, these Player Terms govern for that matter. By using the Player App you accept these Player Terms.

1. What you can do in the Player App

You can record your games, view and manage your recordings, buy add-ons such as highlights and analytics, build a sporting profile, share your recordings, and register for and follow tournaments. Recording depends on the venue's equipment being active; we are not responsible if a recording fails for reasons outside our control.

2. Recording your games

2.1 You start a recording by scanning the venue's QR code; the game is captured using equipment connected to the venue's cameras.

2.2 A recording will usually capture other people present, such as other players or spectators. You confirm that you have the right to record the session and to share it as you choose, and you are responsible for respecting the privacy of others.

2.3 Venues display notice that the area is recorded and may be streamed. We give you a clear indication when recording is active.

3. Your recordings and the licence you give us

3.1 You own your recordings and the content you create.

3.2 You grant us the licence set out in the Terms of Service to host, store, process, and use your recordings to provide the services and to improve and, internally, train our analytics and related models. We use your recordings for marketing or promotion — by us or by the venue — only with your separate, opt-in consent.

3.3 We do not sell or license your recordings to any third party for that third party's own independent commercial use.

4. Sharing, and people in your footage

4.1 You can share your recordings with other players or make them public. When you do, you are responsible for what the footage contains and for the people shown in it, and you grant those you share with a limited right to view (and, if you allow it, download) the recording.

4.2 Do not share footage to harass, embarrass, or expose anyone, and do not share footage you do not have the right to share.

4.3 Minors in footage: if anyone who may be a minor is identifiable in your footage, you must not make it public or use it for promotion unless that minor's parent or guardian has consented. For events run by a venue or organiser, obtaining that consent is their responsibility, and we restrict public and marketing use of footage identifying a minor.

5. Live streaming

5.1 Where streaming is available, you can stream on Clutch's channel (Clutch is the publisher) or connect your own account to stream on your own channel (you are the publisher, are responsible for the stream, and are bound by the streaming platform's terms).

5.2 You must have the right to stream what you broadcast and must respect the rights of others shown in it.

6. Your sporting profile

6.1 Your profile is public by default. You choose everything that appears on it, and you can switch it to private at any time in your settings; we make the default-public setting clear when you create it.

6.2 You are responsible for your profile content: keep it accurate, lawful, and yours to post, and do not include another person's personal data without their consent or anything misleading or infringing.

7. Highlights, analytics, and other paid add-ons

7.1 Highlights and analytics are generated by automated means and are provided for your own use. We do not guarantee that they will be complete or accurate.

7.2 Add-ons are paid features. Pricing, any platform fee, and taxes are shown in the app, and our no-refund policy (with the 7-day good-faith review) in the Terms of Service applies.

8. Tournaments

8.1 You can discover and register for tournaments in the app. Tournaments are organised and run by Tournament Organisers, not by Clutch. We provide the technology and facilitate registration.

8.2 When you register, you accept the Organiser's tournament rules and the assumption-of-risk and liability waiver shown to you at registration.

8.3 Registration fees are collected through our payment partner and paid to the Organiser. The Organiser — not Clutch — is responsible for running the event, for scheduling, results, and scoring (carried out by the Organiser and its referees), for any cancellation, and for any refund. Any dispute about a tournament is between you and the Organiser.

9. Playing sport is at your own risk

9.1 Sport carries an inherent risk of injury. You take part at your own risk and are responsible for ensuring that you are fit and healthy to play.

9.2 Clutch is a technology provider, not the venue operator or the event organiser. We are not responsible for the condition or safety of any venue or activity, or for any injury, loss, or dispute arising from play.

10. Your conduct

Play fair and respect other players, referees, organisers, and venue staff. Do not cheat, manipulate results, abuse, or harass anyone, and keep your information accurate. The Acceptable Use rules in the Terms of Service apply to everything you do in the app.

11. Payments

Paid features are processed through our payment partner, Razorpay; a platform fee may apply and is shown to you. Amounts you pay for a tournament are passed to the Organiser, who is responsible for that service. Refunds are governed by the Terms of Service.

12. If you close your account

You can close your account at any time. Your licence to use the app then ends, and we handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy. Recordings you have already shared or made public may remain visible to those you shared them with, in line with the app's settings.

13. Future features

As we add features such as court booking or equipment purchase, additional terms may apply and will be shown to you before you use them.

14. Changes, governing law, and grievances

These Player Terms are published at the URL above and identified by version date; we will notify you in the app of any material change before it applies. The governing law, jurisdiction, preservation of your consumer rights, and grievance process are as set out in the Terms of Service and the Grievance & Content-Takedown Policy.
