This policy explains how to raise a grievance about our services or your personal data, and how to report content on the platform that you believe is unlawful, infringing, or in breach of our Terms. It forms part of our Terms of Service and works alongside our Privacy Policy. It reflects our obligations as an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made under it, as a Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and as an e-commerce entity under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

The Grievance Officer handles data-protection grievances, complaints about our services, and reports about content on the platform.
You can raise a grievance or report content through the in-app report/help option or by emailing the Grievance Officer. Please include: your name and contact details; a clear description of the issue (and, for a content report, a link to or identifier of the content); the reason it breaches the law or our Terms; and any supporting information. For a content report, please also confirm that the information you provide is accurate and made in good faith.

We acknowledge every complaint within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within 15 days, and in any event within the timelines required by law. For complaints about our own paid services, we follow the consumer-protection timelines, including acknowledging within 48 hours and redressing within one month.
4.1 We review every report and may remove or disable the content, suspend or close the account responsible, ask you for more information, or, where the content does not breach the law or our Terms, decline to act and tell you why.
4.2 We act faster for serious categories. We will act on a valid court order or government direction within 36 hours. We will remove, within 24 hours, content reported by or on behalf of an individual that shows them in a private or sexual context, or that is impersonation or a manipulated/'morphed' image.
4.3 Prohibited content is described in the Acceptable Use section of our Terms and includes unlawful, infringing, obscene, defamatory, harassing, hateful, privacy-violating, and impersonating content.
If you own copyright in content posted on the platform without your permission, send a complaint to the Grievance Officer identifying the work, the infringing content (with a link or identifier), proof of your rights, your contact details, and an undertaking that the information is accurate. On a valid complaint we will disable access to the content for 21 days. If you do not obtain an order from a competent court within that period restraining the content, we may restore it.
If we act on the content you posted, we will tell you where we can. You may respond with an explanation or a counter-claim. We may restore content if the complaint is withdrawn, is found to be invalid, or no court order is obtained within the applicable period.
Reports made falsely, in bad faith, or to harass another user are themselves a breach of our Terms and may lead to action against the person making them.
8.1 If you are not satisfied with how we handle a grievance about your personal data, you may escalate it to the Data Protection Board of India.
8.2 As a consumer, you may approach the consumer dispute redressal authorities under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
8.3 Other disputes are subject to the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka, as set out in our Terms of Service.
Clutch is an intermediary in respect of content that users create and share. We are not the author of that content and do not endorse it; we host it to provide the services and act on valid complaints in line with this policy and the law.
